Sunlight Group: The energy of a strong team from the Xanthi Half-Marathon to the Athens Classic Marathon

Xanthi, 3 December 2025 – Sunlight Group, a member of Olympia Group and a technology company specializing in integrated and innovative energy-storage solutions, participated in two major sporting events in Greece this November: the 11th Democritus Half-Marathon of Xanthi and the 42nd Athens Classic Marathon.

Specifically, Sunlight took part for the fifth consecutive year as Official Sponsor of the 11th Democritus Half-Marathon in Xanthi, reaffirming its commitment to actively supporting the local community of the city where the company’s story first began. This year’s Half-Marathon, one of the most dynamic regional races in the country, was held on 30 November. A total of 130 employees from Sunlight’s facilities in Xanthi and Komotini participated across all race categories, making the Sunlight team the largest team at the event once again. Earlier in November, dozens of employees from Greece and Germany took part in the 42nd Athens Classic Marathon. Sunlight was represented by a multinational team, demonstrating the shared values, unity, and collaborative spirit of its people.

Konstantinos Paspalas, Greece Manufacturing Executive Director at Sunlight Group, who presented the awards to the winners and received the award for the largest team at the 11th Democritus Half-Marathon, stated: “Xanthi is part of our identity and the place where everything began. We remain here as an active member of the local community. The participation of our employees in both the Democritus Half-Marathon and the Athens Classic Marathon shows how sport unites people, cities, and countries.”
