Sunlight Group: Strengthens its Global Supply Chain with a state-of-the-art Logistics Center in Xanthi, a total investment of €21 million
Athens, November 3, 2025
Sunlight Group, a member of the Olympia Group and a technology company offering integrated and innovative energy storage solutions, announces the completion and operation of a new state-of-the-art Logistics Center in Xanthi, representing a total investment of €21 million.
This strategic development aims at the further optimization of Sunlight's fully integrated supply chain and the enhancement of customer service across a total of 115 European and international markets. The importance of the investment is underscored by the fact that 99% of Sunlight's production in Xanthi is being exported.
The facilities with a total area of 15,930 sq.m. constitute a model of modern industrial infrastructure. They combine operational autonomy, digital transformation, and sustainable development, and offer high speed, accuracy, and resilience against the challenges of the international market.
The extensive integration of digital processes aims to accelerate handling, maximize safety, reduce service time by 50%, automate the measurement of efficiency, and optimize data analysis on transportation issues.
Thus, the operational excellence of the Logistics Center is based on advanced technologies in automation, robotics, warehouse management systems (WMS), and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, providing immediate benefits to Sunlight's global supply chain.
Specifically, the new facilities feature more than 21,000 heavy-duty pallet positions, supporting 1,500 kg per position, with VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) systems and an auto-positioning function for maximum space utilization and high-speed, accurate movement of the lifting machinery. Additionally, 34 "smart" loading/unloading ramps are operational, equipped with license plate recording and load confirmation systems.
Sunlight’s new logistics center is fully integrated with the SAP EWM (S/4HANA) system, ensuring immediate visibility of inventory and shipment flows, with automatic data storage in the ERP for absolute accuracy and top response speed. In addition, the building features maximum seismic protection and special climate-controlled zones for the safe storage of sensitive products.
Antonis Theologitis, Group Operations Director of Sunlight Group, emphasized: "The state-of-the-art Logistics Center in Xanthi is not just a new infrastructure, but a strategic step in our long-term growth and a response to global challenges. It is an investment that establishes Greece's role as a central operational hub for the Group's international activities, offering greater flexibility to our fully integrated supply chain. With complete digital integration, we provide our customers in 115 countries with unparalleled and resilient service, confirming our commitment to reliable global solutions."
